Cascade Community Credit Union

A support system for our community

At Cascade Community, we focus on helping our members achieve what’s possible — finding financial balance, reaching life milestones, and building up our community person by person.

Our Story

Cascade Community Credit Union began as DougCo Schools Credit Union in 1948 a credit union for the educators of Douglas County.

This small charter was made up of 15 educators who kept the sum of their assets in a shoebox locked in a closet.

Starting as an institution of educators shaped our values to this day, our priorities lie in helping our community make informed decisions best for their needs. Those educators also created a culture that believed serving locally is how we help our community grow.

Over the years, we began to serve Douglas County as a whole and merged with other institutions to form Cascade Community Credit Union. Our name changed, but our ideals never did. We continue to serve you as a financial institution and by supporting our communityteachers, farmers, ranchers, business members, and the families that call Douglas County home and it all started with 15 teachers and a shoebox.

How is a Credit Union different from a bank?

Our focus is on people helping people. As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, we are able to offer quality financial products and services that benefit the whole membership. This often includes:

  • Lower interest rates
  • More attractive loan terms
  • Less fees
